What is Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS)?

Commonly known as SLS, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is a synthetic organic compound. It is a widely used and inexpensive anionic surfactant, or surface active agent used in many cleaning and hygiene products, such as shampoos, toothpastes, mouthwashes, body washes, soaps and detergents.

SLS has been used in shampoos and body washes since the 1930s. It is a foaming agent which enables grease to cling to it so that it’s easy to wash away in a final rinse. However, in some people, it can be a skin irritant. So, with you always in our mind, we do not use SLS in any of our products.

Soothing Showers produce SLS free shower gel, body butter, body scrub, body lotion and body wash. From this website you can buy shower gel without SLS and sulfate free body wash and sulfate free shower gel.
